When I created girlblogging back in 2022, I wanted to capture the fun of the internet in the early 2000’s.

Hey guys, remember when we used to visit websites?

Remember when we would spend hours on a website about lizards?

Then we’d log off and step away from the internet for a bit.

It was a good time when you could do that.

Our show, girlblogging, had a second life in 2023 at Qtopia in Darlinghurst. I was so happy to see audiences engaging by taking photos and making posts during our interactive performance. I want to capture that essence now with this girlblog.

I’ve always found a sense of community online, and know others have too. There are thousands of people coming together through forums, blogs, digital zine archives and fanfiction sites every day. I want the girlblog to be something where art nerds and emerging performers can share their experiences with a community who will listen.

So, with all that being said…

This is your spot for personal essays, opinions, fun facts and anything you desire! We will be posting some content but are also excited to publish works for writers who are interested! We want to keep our community alive through art making and are hoping to do this through posting on the girlblog.

We have some posts lined up and are excited to share with you interviews, reviews and insights into the up and coming arts scene of Gadigal and Dharawal Country.
